In the state till March 31, 2007, 1,833 small and medium enterprises and handicrafts units were registered. In the field of lobster processing, two units are 100% export oriented. Apart from this, there are CP and Wood based handicraft units. Small and Medium Enterprises (UCC) work in the production of paint and varnish, small flour mills, soft drinks and liquor, steel furniture and other equipment, readymade garments, iron doors, grill etc. Small industrial units are also working to construct CP crafts, bakery production, rice extract and furniture. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation has started working in the areas of tourism, fisheries and industrial credit and it is also working as an authorized agent of Alliance Air / Jet Airways / Air Deccan.
