Andrew’s sleep was brought to an abrupt end, not by his alarm clock but by the fact that he fell from his bed to the hard marble ground below.

He was grateful to God that he did not fall headlong if not he ,might have sustained some injuries, he checked the time it was 6:47 am, he had set the alarm for 7:00 am.

He got up and started preparing for his trip, his father was away on a business trip in Dubai so he was going to represent the Company at the economic summit at Abuja.

He rushed into the bathroom brushed his teeth and took a quick bath, he was about going into the kitchen to fix a quick breakfast when he realised that he has not called Ahmed his regular cab man, he took his Blackberry phone and dialed his number.

Hello Ahmed come and pick me in thirty minutes time. He cut the call and continued with his preparation. He went downstairs to feed Caesar his dog , he made a mental note to remind the house keeper to feed him in the afternoon.

Caesar was already awake and was in front of the television watching a cartoon, he had forgotten to switch the television off the night before. On sighting him Caesar got up and started running towards him he had to drop the Dog food abruptly so that it won’t pour away, Caesar was huge and he always loved to jump on Andrew, from a standing position he was almost taller than Andrew, after the pleasantries he went over to his food bowl and started eating.

Andrew went back upstairs to continue his preparations, he went upstairs to dress up, he went to his wardrobe and picked his grey suit, he complemented with a cream colored shirt and a dark blue tie, he checked his ticket for the last time, carried his dark blue suitcase and proceeded downstairs, he will be back by evening so he would not be needing a change of clothes.

Gilbert the house keeper had already resumed work. Gilbert I am going on a business trip but I will be back by evening, remember to feed Caesar and prepare Oha soup for dinner. Okay sir, get me something when you are coming back. Okay I will get you something.

The horn coming from outside signalled that his ride has arrived, okay Gilbert I am off, take care of the house. He went outside and stopped momentarily to admire the rose garden the gardener was cultivating, he stepped outside and joined Ahmed in the front seat of the cab.

Good morning sir. Morning Ahmed take me to the Airport I have a flight to catch in thirty minutes. Few minutes into the journey Andrew found out that Ahmed who was a chitchat was uncharacteristically quiet, he brought out his i-phone to check his mail, after replying mails he started browsing through the web for the morning news, he was so engrossed that he did not know Ahmed took a wrong turn and started driving inland, when he finally looked up he was in strange territory, he never saw the blow coming, he passed out immediately.
