Chapter 1: The Girl in the Rain
The rain poured heavily as Ava walked alone through the empty streets. She had no family, no home, and no idea that her life was about to change forever.
A black luxury car suddenly stopped beside her. The back door opened, and a tall man dressed in a black suit stepped out. His cold grey eyes locked onto hers.
"You are coming with me," he said calmly.
Ava took a step back. "I don't even know who you are."
The man smiled faintly. "My name is Adrian Romano. I am the head of the Romano Mafia."
Her heart raced.
"I think you've mistaken me for someone else."
"No," Adrian replied. "For fifteen years, we've searched for the missing Mafia Queen... and we finally found you."
Before Ava could ask another question, gunshots echoed through the street.
Adrian pulled her behind him and drew his gun.
"Stay close," he whispered. "From this moment on, your life will never be the same."
