Why I love you Chapter #2

Sunmi's P.O.V
"Wait for me!" I screamed running after Emma. We have been walking around the market since in the morning and I'm so tired. I wonder where she gets her sued energy from.
She sighed and paused. I walked faster to her side,breathing hard.
I put my hands on my knees,gasping for air. "Do we need to go any further,can't we just buy it at any store?"
"No,Sunmi, we have to buy the best,all these people sell fake products. And you know the school we are going to! They are going to know if we wear anything fake."
I groaned. "I don't care what they think. Let's just buy any one and head back home before it's dark"
She batted her eyelashes. "Just one more store."
I sighed,and we continued the useless walk. I kind of regret bringing Emma along with me. If I came alone,I would have been done already. She kept asking me to buy bags,shoes,gowns and jewellries. I don't need most of these things. I just want to start school comfortably.
Emma has been my friend since preschool,we do everything together even though we are totally different from each other. Sh is tall,slim,dark and beautiful, while I'm short,fat,fair and ugly. She is an extrovert but I think I'm an introvert. She is so annoying but I still love her,she is my best friend and I can't replace her.
We both got admission into unilorin,she got masscom and I applied for accountancy. I'm so happy we are going to be together.
As we walked around,my attention caught a beautiful red gown. I quickly called Emma's attention to it. I dragged her into the boutique,finally I have found something I really want to buy.
"Stop it Sunmi,this gown is not going to fit you!" She argued.
My smile fell. "Why?"
"You know you are a little fat,these gowns are for slim people like us!" She said with a sad smile on her face.
My heart broke,I know that I'm fat but hearing it from my best friend is like an insult. I stared at her for a while before I smiled back. "Okay,why don't you try it,Emma?"
Her face lit up. "Really?"
I nodded. She ran to meet the salesgirl, soon she entered the inner room. I sat on a stool, waiting for her.
She came out and the gown really fit her. "Wow! Emma you look so good in this dress. It really fit you,sweetheart"
She smiled widely. "Really?"
I nodded. "Yeah,you should buy it!"
She pouted. "But I have no money left!"
I paused. "Okay,I will buy it for you!"
"Really,Thanks Sunmi"she said hugging me tight.
I smiled,glad that I made her day.
I bought some other things before heading home. My Dad promised to bring me a new phone today and I can't wait to see it. Emma had a phone since she was 15 but my Dad refused to get me one,saying I will only use a phone when I'm in the university. Finally it's time, I could have some fun now too.
She escorted me home,before heading to her house. I showed my parents what I bought and gave my mom the remaining money. I'm sure she will buy some other things for me.
I prepared dinner,and we all ate,chatting about things.
While washing and tidying up the kitchen,my mom keep telling me about her university days and how she survived. I picked a lot of lessons and promised to stick to it. I am going to miss my mom a lot, despite her nagging and insults.
I can't imagine what my life would be without her and my family.I am going to a strange land alone, I wonder what it would be like.
