Whispers in the lake house: part 1 (original)
We are all aware of the great connection that the twins have with each other, since they have spent their entire lives under practically the same conditions of living at the same time, this factor makes them very close to each other. Much has been said by psychologists of the phenomenon of twin brothers, the closeness of thoughts they possess and the similarity in their actions, is something quite curious indeed.
John and Derek weren't going to be the exception, two 10-year-old brothers who lived in a house of a rural area, their house had a lake in the back side, this lake was quite peculiar since it always lacked any kind of sound and always was covered by a dense fog, but it was only the lake, the other places around it didn't have this peculiarity. The two brothers practically needed each other, it was impossible to see one separated from the other, they went to school together, they used to playe together, they used to watch TV together and anything else they could do, they did together, they even used to see the same TV programmings.
As they went to the same school they went together at the same time, they saw the same class, they sat together and ate together their lunch. One day Derek felt sick and decided to separate from his brother and go home alone this time, this were the first time in their lives that these brothers were separated and was something completely understandable, because Derek felt very bad at that time. John as a good brother understood what his brother was going through and didn't have any kind of problem at all with just going home alone after finishing classes that day.
On the way home Derek found a very peculiar box with the image of a clown who actually didn't look scary, just a clown with a happy expression on his face, the box said in bright letters "Watching this tape could change your life" , And then you know how curious the children are at that age, they were only 10 years old. Derek took the box with the tape inside and took it to his house without telling anyone what was taking with him, when he opened the door of the house, his mother were really surprised of his presence that early and asked to him what had happened to him and why he was separated from his brother, since it was rather strange. Derek told her that he was feeling bad and because of this he had decided to return home as soon as possible, the mother understood him and told him to wait in his room to bring him a soup and a home remedy that she were going to prepare immediately. Derek paid attention and went to his room.
Curious about what he had found on the street, Derek turned on his TV and his dvd and inserted the videotape into it. The film was a bit confusing, it was just a completely black image that after a few seconds changed color and sketched some details to form the image of two people wearing a rather strange mask, it was not the box clown, the people wearing such a mask kept whispering things that were not clearly understood on TV.
Derek wasn't hearing very well what they said so he decided to turn up volume to the fullest of the TV, the whispers in spite of being at maximum volume were not understood too much, and finally the tape after a minute and a half went off alone. When Derek finished to watch the tape, he began to scream from nothing in despair for no reason, the mother alarmed by what was happening immediately went to his room to see what was going on with Derek, but to her surprise Derek hadn't had a damn thing, but screaming.
The desperate mother tried to calm him but he still continued to scream until at a sudden moment stopped screaming and fell into a spice of coma or lethargy state, the mother totally confused for what just had happened didn't know what to do, but to call the father who was working several miles away to tell him the situation but when she started to dial the number of this one, Derek was standing behind her back without presenting any symptoms outside of normal, the mother was puzzled and asked him if he was okay and the boy said yes, he just asked for his brother and without saying anything else went to his room, something totally strange since seconds before he had been screaming at full voice.
The mom still stunned by what had happened that night decided to call the father, who certainly wouldn't return home until three days later, to tell him what had happened to little Derek. The father simply could not believe anything that the mother was telling him because it sounded like something crazy, the only part he believed was that the child felt bad at the time, men are often skeptical about these issues so dad just told the mother not to worry and that it wasn't something so serious to worry too much about it.
After the conversation in the phone with the father, she went to say good night to her two children, opened the door of the room and what she found left her in a more confused state than she already was because of what had happened that afternoon with Derek.
