Because I Love You

I know that today the grey cloud of lonelinesss and depression pressed so closely around you that you could not feel.

You were not happy, nor were you sad, you had not hopes for fears. No dreams for tomorrow, no memories of yesterday.

Today I will Smile for you, and if there are tears to be shed I will wipe my own eyes dry.

I will hold your hopes close to my heart and I will not allow the fears to overcome us.

I will remember your dreams and treasure all of your memories, keeping them safe for you to enjoy another day.

Because I love you...

Today I understand that you cannot hear me as I speak words for reassurance to your heart.

I know that you cannot feel my love as I hold you in my arms.

That you do not believe my promises of better days to come.

That love has no meaning and that hope is the cruelest emotion of all.

I promise you that I will never stop believing the words of hope that I speak to you.

I believe that you will overcome these grey clouds, and that your life will one day be filled with rainbows.

I will never let go, I will always hold you close.

Because I love you!

Because I love you I see the beauty in you.

Those things that set you apart from others and mean that you do not fit in.

I will celebrate the uniqueness of your spirit.

I will smile when I remember you as you once were and I will embrace the person that you will be when this difficult time has passed.

Because I love you, I will tell you a story.

I will be your voice when you have lost your own.

I will remind those that you love so dearly that you love them still.

I will reassure them that while you are not able to express your thoughts and emotions, you love them none the less.

That you are still their child to love, and their friend who longs to laugh once more with them.

Because I love you, I will not try to answers the questions you ask.

I do not have answers and it would be foolish of me to pretend that I did.

I will be your companion as you seek to answer these questions and to make sense of this illness that has changed the world in which you live.

Because I love you, I will hear you when you speak.

Because I love you, I will take this journey with you.

Together we will dance in the rain showers and look for the rainbows.

Because I love you, the sun will shine again.
