The disappeared inflow

At the time of the "Atlantic Optimum" there was another large tributary to the left - "Yellow Nile" - which descended from the Darfur highlands.
Passing through (then still) steppe areas, fell into the Nile near the old Dongola.

About three thousand years ago, due to the continuing desiccation of the climate and the onset of deserts, it ceased to exist.

Now only Wadi Khovar remained from him, in the upper reaches of the border of Chad and Northern Darfur, and then lost in the sands of the Libyan desert.
