Rapier
Rapier (German Rapier, from the French rapière, originally a Spanish espada ropera is literally a "sword for the clothes," that is, worn with a civil dress, not with armor, distorted in the French la rapière - mostly stabbing the blade weapon.
This is a kind of sword, in the original meaning of a long "civilian" sword.
In contrast to the "battle" sword is too light to apply a chopping blow, nevertheless in the classic (not sports) version has blades.
In Russian, the rapier is most often called a weapon with a bayonet blade - three or four-sided, mainly intended for training fights.

Рапира это просто гражданская шпага.
