Gaddare
Gaddare (Pers.), Pala (tour.) Is a kind of saber.
They were in circulation in Turkey, Iran and some other countries since the XVII century.
These sabers differ fairly short (65-75 cm) and wide (5-5.5 cm) blade, with a thick (up to 1 cm) obukom. Sometimes they had a double-edged elman, the width of the blade at the beginning was 6-7 cm. The handle of the handle consisted of two halves attached to the shank by rivets; with a knob curled downward. The ends of a comparatively small cross were rounded forward.
The scabbards were relying on wooden scabbards, which were covered with black leather, or, less often - with velvet. The sabers of the gadar had both a ceremonial and a combat purpose.
