My husband and I own our house (no mortgage) and we have a well so no water bill. If I could pay off a little debt then I someday could realistically make a living here. Our month bills aren't bad. I'm a long ways away though.
By owning your own home and water, you are already miles ahead of the game!
Very best wishes for your success getting that debt paid off! Then all you'll have to do is figure out how to send the property tax man down a deep well somewhere... ;)
