ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND LANDSCAPE

While riding around with my friend in Louisville Kentucky a uniquely
designed home caught my eye. It was how the drive way curved up
the hill at a slight angle making it possible for you to pull right
in front of the house.
l was in a rich white neighborhood. So It was quickly explained to
me that in this situation getting out of his vehicle to take a photo
was definitely out of the question unless l was a grounds keeper or
house cleaner. It’s not very common to see black families in rich
neighborhoods here he expressed to me. Not that a professional
rich person of color couldn’t get one of the homes l saw. You
just don’t see it. Did l mention my friend is white.

My friend and his mother that lives with him have
lived there for at lest five years now. They pretty
much know what’s going on. I had to laugh when
he said we gave them some of our winter weather
this year.

There was a huge expensive condo next to the house

I would have gotten a front view photo but l didn’t want to look
suspicious. This was not the neighborhood to get out and take a
causal stroll, let alone take a picture. A very high
percentage of blacks in Louisville Kentucky either live in
middle income or lower income. Unfortunately a lot of them
live in high crime areas where the crime rate is staggering. Because
of limited bus service some people can’t get to places that have
better paying jobs.

Someone would have called the police with the quickness
had they seen me. Boy what in world are you doing
in this part of town if you’re not doing yard work or trimming
trees! You must be intending to commit a crime. Stealing the
things people worked hard to get here.

The poverty problem is a economic thing. Money
talks period. Let’s not forget about the house
on the hill. The American dream
