About My Avatar
I too was unreasonably excited when I saw that profile pictures had been activated. The whole place suddenly seems so much more human now I can see some faces by your comments.
I couldn't quickly find the one I currently use on twitter so I went with the one I call "Homeward Bound." It's a still from a bit of video I shot in 2010 (yeah, I know but you can see I haven't aged all that much!) I was sitting on what passes for a platform at the Amtrak Station in Austin, Texas just before sunset, waiting for a train that would take me down to San Antonio where I'd meet the good ol' Sunset Limited that would carry me westward for more than 24 hours to the hallowed halls of Union Station, Los Angeles. This felt like the beginning of the end of the trip, I'd already made it from Boston to NYC to DC to Atlanta to New Orleans and thence to Austin and now while I sat with the grackles screeching, all I had in my head was the old Paul Simon song that he wrote on Widnes station in Merseyside and was laughing at the ridiculous comparison.

This old thing?
With travels like that, I might be singing it too. ;)
Aw, look at them, such babies.
fond times and i remember that trip very well. that was real people power in the twitterverse before it became white noise!
I was and still am so darn happy that now everybody can see that I am not a male! :D I also love to see all the faces and I agree with you that it makes Steemit more human, more personal in my eyes.
