Checkout Observation: Don’t Want To Wait In Line?
Went to the supermarket and there were huge lines at the checkout.
One of the manager asked me to follow her to a counter with the "CLOSED" sign and started to process my items. She asked me to leave the "CLOSED" sign up, I guess she was just grabbing people who have been waiting for a while to help and relieve the queues.
Out of nowhere this Asian lady suddenly came up to our counter and started queuing, the manager politely asked her to queued at one of the other counters till she is called.
The Asian lady then protested and said "I've only got one item, can’t you just process it?" While holding up her juice.
The manager replied, "Sorry, I've got to be fair, there are a lot of people who have been waiting longer than you."
The lady then proceeded to stare at the manager before suddenly slamming her juice onto the counter and stomping off.
The supermarket manager froze for a second, we were both confused as to why the Asian lady got so angry. Was it because she was not able to cut in line?…

Hi @lifeobserver :) I love your Steemit handle, which speaks of what you plan to do on this platform very well, especially with this story you have just posted.
You illustrated the whole scenario that you have witnessed very well and I am sure more of such stories will come from you. Sometimes, inconsideration can also give a "wow''-factor, can't it? Perhaps it was the entitlement attitude within the human nature.
Looking forward to posts as such from you, and we at @greetersguild would love to support you as you tap into the start of your journey on Steemit. One of the ways to gain visibility and exposure is by tagging some tags accordingly which you may freely tag #greetersguild. We aim to support and guide newcomers for you to decide to stay on. Steem on and we at @greetersguild welcome you.
Hi @happycrazycon,
Appreciate your reply and what your guild is doing on Steemit, this is the first guild on Steemit that I have come across that I feel is making the community better. Thanks for your support again and Im definitely on board with #greetersguild.
Nice story and I see this a lot actually. I do think that she was mad because she didn't get her way. It's a nice way of saying she felt entitled for whatever reason. Usually because these kind of people only think of themselves and have little to no regard for others. Her time was more important? She felt she was more important, any number of reasons.
I hate to say it probably would have giggled at such a display and have that same puzzled look.
Thank you for sharing @lifeobserver
Yep, I'm starting to notice more and more people having this sort of behaviour, cutting in line etc. Appreciate the reply mate.
You're welcome :)
