UNSOLVED MYSTERIES: LUXOR MANSION “MARACAIBO'S HAUNTED HOUSE”

in #story6 years ago

¡Hello steemians! Today I bring you a new chapter of UNSOLVED MYSTERIES. Unlike the previous chapter, this time I will share with you a story from my hometown about a beautiful house that hides a dark secret.

LUXOR MANSION "MARACAIBO'S HAUNTED HOUSE"

What was once a mansion full of luxuries and wealthy people, today has more than 25 years uninhabited and remains almost intact, forgotten in time, bristling the skin of anyone who contemplates it, becoming one of the most spooky legends of the city.

The Luxor mansion also known as "The House of the Lions" because it had two purple marble felines that adorned its garden, was built in 1953 on a plot of 1900 square meters, between Avenue 5 de Julio and 67th Street of the Paraíso Sector in Maracaibo, Zulia State.

Felipe Amado Montiel, a man of the local high society of his time, business creator and founder of the regional brewery, was the original owner of the house.

He was the leader of an esoteric and universal fraternity called the Rosicrucian order AMORC. With an unconventional thought, his relatives affirmed that it was the legitimate order of Egypt, reason why Montiel was inspired by the Luxor Temple for the construction of his home.

Without even having traveled to Egypt, he managed to get a architect to capture the Hebrew symbolism on the walls of the building, dividing it between the two floors and the basement.

This mansion was the residence of the Amado family for the next 40 years, receiving in its spaces important personalities of the time, including Felipe Llovera Páez, Lila Morillo with her husband José Luís Rodríguez, and the General Marco Pérez Jiménez.

In 1992, the Bank of Maracaibo bought the house with the intention of building a branch of the entity in this area, but the project was never executed, turning the mansion into a house of thugs and esoteric and religious concentrations, passing into the hands of the Fund of Guarantee of Deposits of the Financial Institutions (FOGADE).

In 2005, METROMARA (the subway of the city) receive the house, to serve as main office, but the recovery of the spaces was not possible thanks to the "lack of budget" so the house was abandoned and still belongs to this institution.

As a consequence of the abandonment and the popular imagination, an endless number of speculative stories were created about what happened in the past of the mansion. Among the nearby community, it is said that inside the house a priest performed an exorcism of two children possessed by a demonic force, who gave the order to block all the exits of the building if they did not manage to escape on the third day of the ritual being locked up by the rest of eternity.

The original owners flatly denied this story, claiming that the constant onslaught of crime led to the obstruction of doors and windows.

The inhabitants of the sector and some fast-food vendors who for years have been around the house, swear that, at night, the soul of a woman who hanged herself inside the house when it was already uninhabited, wanders the corridors and go down the main staircase until she get lost in the main room.

Piano, violin, noises of things that fall on the floor, cries, weeping and laments, are just some of the noises that, according to neighbors, come out of the inside of the house, just at midnight

One of the heirs tells that his father, the founder of the home, did not want the house to be sold, so just before he died he told them: ** _ "If you sell it, this house can never be inhabited”._**

This augury turned into prophecy to this day has been fulfilled because the Luxor mansion is still there, proud in darkness, silent and detained in time.

I hope to read your comments about this urban legend, Reality or Fantasy ?.
