Creative Writing Challenge Task # 6

The Rules

Your task guys, is to finish the story that Charles has just started.
Feel free to spice it up with more details about Charles and Roger (if you think it's worth doing). What I would be paying real attention to, of course, is what happened with Mr. Adam and his wife after they got back home, and why Roger is in that Naperville's hospital.

Charles Story

03:08 p.m. August 15, 2015 Edward Hospital, Naperville IL. Roger is speaking with his butler, Charles.
Roger: Excuse me Charles, could you briefly explain to me why I'm now lying on a bed in this hospital? Charles: Yes, sir. I would love to. However, I couldn't really promise that it will be a brief story.
Roger: Okay then. We have enough time. Please, go ahead.
Charles: Good sir. You know our neighbors, correct?
Roger: Mr. Adam and his wife. The strange ones?
Charles: Exactly sir. You know that sometimes they travel for longer and when they arrive back home they have quarrels. Well, last time the quarrel lasted longer than usual. That's why... [Continue the story].

The Story

Turns out, it was her birthday and she had finished a huge project at work. What we didn't know was that she worked for a special task force researching cryptocurrencies. Through networking, being at the right place long enough, and around the right people, she met and married the founder/owner of Steemit.
“Charles, I don't have times for games," sighed Roger. He rolled over and stared at the picture of the man he called a friend. Roger was a brilliant programmer. He would read any code, hack any server, and he was paid well to do so. What he could never program or hack was love.
Charles whispered, "Yes, her husband is that guy."

"You really should let me finish," explained Charles. Roger sighed and looked down at his shirt.
"Well, I've got more stitches than a skateboarder,” he said. “This should be interesting."

Charles took a deep breath, pushed the extra chair closer, cleared his throat and continued.

"Her special project was to investigate online users. She had to join various communities, each time with a different identity and a different purpose. Her mission would end once her husband discovered her or completed a task for her, revealing who she really was. Well, her last project she got a little too passionate about. The group was made up of ichthyologists or had an odd fascination with growing minnows to whales. I don't have all the details just yet, but bear in mind they kill far more than they grow."

"Get to the point where I am stabbed, CHARLES!" screamed Roger, while he winced in pain.

"Well, she befriend and was betrayed by a blowfish on a small task that appeared trivial, but it was enough to get her husband’s attention. Overnight, she was forced to leave a community she had grown to love. Well, this all happened two days, apparently, after they arrived from Portugal."

"I remember seeing them come home and hearing the noises. I think I went over when I heard him scream for help," Roger explained. His face suddenly dropped, his breathing quickened, and his eyes widened as he remembered opening the door. He yelled, “HELLO, it’s Roger from next door. Is everything okay?”

He reached for his head as he remembered the blow. He remembered falling and feeling too dizzy to get up. He could hear her chanting, "No one threatens me, no one takes this from me. DOESN'T HE KNOW WHO MY FATHER IS?"

Roger’s vision cleared just in time to see the knife, the pain with each stab, her vindictive eyes, and all the blood. He managed to push her off and reach for the weapon that flew off her hand. Never using a firearm before, his hand shook at the weight. She lunged towards him.

"Roger, Roger, are you okay? You don't look too well," asked Charles.

"I just need to rest, Charles. Thank you for being here. Please shut off the light. I would like to rest now,” requested Roger.

"Well, they know you’re awake and need to speak to you sir," said Charles.

"Who does?" asked Roger.

"The police. You’re wanted for murder," explained Charles.

Woo, dark twist at the end. I like the humor at the beginning, it kind of throws you off a bit. Good work!

I think you are catching on to my theme. I am trying to shock you with my story. What will it take?

That ending...
Great written!

Thank you so much. I am trying to get dark and twisty with these stories.
