Well, not really. This is a story about a man who convinced his family, friends, neighbors and pretty much the whole town that he is the UK national lottery winner who won more than 8 million pounds. Now let's start at the beginning, let's name the main characters as John and Sally...
John was a working man and so was Sally but the monthly income just wasn't enough to keep the family up float with all the bills coming in. Things were getting tense between John and Sally as time past by, at one point a divorce was in talks. But John had a plan, keeping his wife happy was his main priority, so, he told her he won the lottery and that their financial problems are gone all In order to save his marriage. Now, you might ask yourselves how did she fell for it anyway?
John was quite a slick cat, remember, he didn't just fool his family, the whole town was buzzing about this news which spread around like plague.
Sally was making plans to move to the country-side, giving away all her belongings to friends and neighbors, meanwhile, John had to make it happen one way or another but first, he got himself a nice Jaguar in the local car dealership.
I know, wtf, but that's a true story people. Days went by, new bills came, nothing was paid and Sally becomes suspicious. After doing some checking she came to a conclusion that if John is telling the truth he must show her his bank statements to prove he really won all that money and he sure did show her.
Going to an ATM and depositing an 8 million pound check which he knew would bounce in a few days but was still enough to show her an ATM receipt which claimed he had more than 8 million on his bank account, Sally was amazed and happy its not all a big fat lie.
In the upcoming days they went in search for their new home in the country-side which was priced at 500K, they came in style and the owners had no idea it's all a charade. John spoke freely about winning the lottery, gave the owners a nice ride in his new Jaguar and everything was going "@smooth". They made an arrangement to sell the house and the owners felt like they won the lottery themselves.
Johns head is so far up his own arse it's unreal, imagine being in his shoes. Ever since telling everyone he won the lottery John did one thing, playing the lottery in hopes he'll really win. The pressure this man was under must have been super stressful or at least not feel so comfortable.
The moving day finally came, John had a written check for the house which he knew will bounce, again, that didn't stop him going through with his plan. Even helped the "former" owners of the house pack their things, what a good lad!
You guessed it, the check bounced, the police came, took John to a questioning where he later admitted everything by telling the truth. John had another secret which explains a lot, he had a mistress. He convinced her to take a large loan credit which he spends around as a "fresh millionaire", what a joke if you think about it. Sally was devastated by this news, her dreams were shattered. The whole town was shocked that John could come up with such a lie... Johns luck is out, sitting in a cell...
"This guy ain't no lottery winner, he's just a wanker..."
The End
