A bend and a mysterious bay

Passing a bend as we climbed Mount Paro on the west coast of Aceh, we were forced to stop for a moment to see a beautiful view of a bay.

The sea surface there was calm, and a peaceful village lay there as well. This beautiful bay beach looks without visitors, not even one there, although a fisherman. It pushes me to ask a hawker of fruit near the bend. Why did the beach at the bay look deserted and no one visiting there?

The hawker replied, "There have been many accidents, many people missing in the water, and never found."

I was startled to hear the explanation.

I asked him again, what was the cause of the incidents?

"Not sure, but many people say that the waters have many whirlpools in the depths, and someone who swims there could be sucked into the vortex, I do not know, until now there has been no scientific investigation."

Apparently not all the beautiful can be approached or enjoyed. It seems many dangers are never predicted from something that looks beautiful...!

So whatever it is, stay cautious, I think. Though it is the beauty that attracts us strongly.
