This is actually pretty scary
Whilst investigating the death of a local private detective, a bold author called Annie Blast uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, damp kettle circulating throughout Cornwall. As soon as anyone uses the kettle, he or she has exactly 100 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look shrunken. A marked person feels like a slimy lizard to touch.
Annie gets hold of the kettle, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a spotty koala balancing on a wide private detective, an old newspaper headline about a skating accident, a hooded monkey ranting about fingernails and a drinking well located in a quiet place.
When Annie notices her toes have lizard-like properties, she realises that the curse of the damp kettle is true and calls in her son, a shopkeeper called Jeff Zeus, to help.
Jeff examines the kettle and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the spotty koala balancing on a wide private detective particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Annie and Jeff pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded monkey. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
