In the world in between, with Asmodeus and his minion jinn sealed away, Rephael was unconscious and his father, Cyrus, Holk, and the three captains were trapped. In a way it was good because they did not know that outside, the spawn put up an insane fight.

On the outside, carnage was everywhere and still spawn exited the box. The flying spawn got the idea to lift the box and move it in between missile strikes. Once they flew off with the box, the numbers of the spawn increased and the battle turned their way.

As Cyrus and the rest examined Rephael, they saw that his old chest wound looked horrible and did their best to stabilize him, keep him warm, and reduce the shock.

“Perhaps we could bring your other son in here and then we could leave,” Captain Shrock said.

“No,” Cyrus and Holk said together. Cyrus continued “If we do that, even though he is unconscious it might open that gate over there. If that happens, we will have to seal it again and we have a lot less people and ammunition.”

“We would still be trapped.” Holk said.

“We can give him a morphine shot!” Captain Lennox said.

“Let’s bandage his chest.” Cyrus said. “He has suffered injuries breaking horses and wrestling cattle. I think in a while he will come to.”

“How do you know that?” Holk asked.

“If he really is my son, then he has, or will, and you know it, Holk.”

“Yeah, okay, Cyrus is right, let’s carefully bind that chest and he will come to soon enough.” Holk agreed. Cowboy living could be a real tough sport from time to time and the truth about it is a cowboy’s work isn’t a sport.

As they bound Rephael’s chest, Mindy and Myra waited for the men to come out and Mindy said, “I am worried. It has been a long time. They should be out by now.”

“I am worried too, Mindy but we have to wait no matter what happens even if they do not come back.” Myra commiserated with her.

“Do you have that piece?” Mindy asked. “I lost mine in there.”

“Do we need them?” Myra asked.

“We should have never stepped in, in the first place. I think I have to sit down,” Mindy said, “I am feeling faint. Cyrus and I decided we would not let Eon go in alone in case things went wrong.” Mindy sat down on the ground with Eon in her arms.

“Are you all right Mindy?” Myra asked.

“I am just a little tired, a little afraid for Cyrus and Lewis.” Mindy weakly mumbled while she comforted Eon.

“Eon is affected by that place we were in?” Myra asked.

“No, he was born it. I never told you this Myra,” Mindy thought for a moment whether or not she wanted to reveal this. She was so tired, “My pregnancy with Eon could not have lasted more than five minutes and he was born.”

“What?”

“Born right where we walked into there and came out,” Mindy felt exhausted.

“Mama sick,” Eon said as he looked at Mindy’s face, “Momma, I help.”

Eon began to glow and Mindy said to Myra, “He is a special child Myra, come and hug us please.”

Eon grew brighter and brighter until all was light.
