"That is a very impressive structure in their basement. Do you have any idea why they built that besides for ritual human sacrifice?" General Ricks asked Colonel Cannon as they continued to examine the documents and photographs spread out on the table in his office.

This here," Cannon asked as he pointed to the picture of the temple in the basement.

"No one has a clue but it does seem to be an awful lot of trouble to go to just to kill people for a sacrifice to a God. But since we found one secret chamber where it appears the actual sacrifices happened, there could be more. Who knows what we eventually will be found - it would go a lot faster if we could get our prisoners to talk." Cannon answered.

"More than difficult to do, do we know yet what God or Gods this temple is for?" Ricks asked.

"Nergal, the Akkadian God of Death. Look at this relief here Sir that is Nergal." Cannon answered.

"The box says, Gate of Hell in three languages, is Akkadian the other?"

"We don't know yet." Cannon answered.

"And this box, says to be opened by Nergal and we think Asmodeus and Nergal are the same?"

"We do think they are the same, Sir."

"It is those spawn of Asmodeus, his children, and all these sacrifices at the temple in the basement." General Ricks surmised. "This box was found outside the Ford Explorer?"

"Let me check sir." Cannon quickly looked through a pile of papers containing information about Nelika Mashgahdi and after a brief search, "No sir, the box was in her right front hip pocket of her pants."

"And with it she was able to do something to the trooper who tried to search her?" General Ricks surmised. "Has anyone touched that thing, how many people have touched it?"

"Sir, do you think we are somehow comprised by touching the box, the technicians, the researchers, and the police?" Cannon asked.

"I don't know. I don't feel any different, do you Cannon?" Ricks said.

"Sir, I don't but...to think they might be turning American kids into those spawn is too horrible to believe and the feeding them into Asmodeus from the box." Cannon turned white as he spoke, "We are so lucky not to be living in the time that religion was running."

"Get the Chief of the CIA on the phone!" Ricks ordered through the door. "Cannon, we are going to attempt to use any and all means to get those evil bastards to talk. I just have to get authorization..."

"Yes sir, it is warranted." Cannon agreed.

"Halt!" Ricks heard the captain on guard at the door.

"What is it guard?" Cannon asked.

"Sir, three intelligence reports sir."

"Bring them -" Cannon was interrupted.

"Wait!" Ricks ordered, "I want to see who it is and I want to question everyone here!" He turned toward the guard inside the door. "You, do you feel any different since you started this duty and think about it."

The captain-guard answered, "Sir, no, not while I am on duty but then I have had nightmares when I am not on shift."

"You, Guard, what about you? Did you hear the question?" Ricks asked the other captain guard.

"Sir, like him exactly." he nodded toward the other guard.

"Cannon," Ricks asked?

"Sir, yes, this is more than creepy but I really do not sleep. But when I nap…it is a fight."

"The messengers will answer in turn." Ricks stood at the doorway looking at them. Each one answered they all had nightmares when they were off duty. "Cannon I want a shrink, no three, to evaluate everyone here, to see if the nightmares are all the same. Not here in this office, got it?"

"Yes sir." Cannon said to Ricks. Then he turned to the messengers, "You hand your papers through the door and go fetch three psychiatrists from the hospital immediately. You are in charge of setting up and interview room of everyone who came into contact with that box or was in near proximity to it."

"Cannon get some tongs or something and get that box out of this office and into a safe, somewhere where people are not close to it."

"You get some tongs and something to put that box in. You find somewhere secure to put this box where nowhere is near it."

"Cannon call the Vatican and anyone else we can think of about how to deal with Asmodeus, that box, and anything else we find! Get on it?"

"Permission to speak, Sir?"

"Granted."

"Are you having problems too sir, the box?" Cannon asked Ricks.

"This is one horrible duty station, all agreed?" Ricks looked out at his personnel, the guards. To Cannon, the General whispered in his ear, "Perhaps we only thought the box grew when energy was put to it. What if it grows every time they sacrifice a kid?"

"Yes sir!" They all responded. Cannon left the office to follow his orders.

Ricks read the reports, the first, Janet Flynn could and would talk - that was great. The second report, Nelika Mashgahdi was spotted at the first set of vortexes that appeared in Utah. She actually had an observation bunker in the side of a hill, and that is why she was never seen. That evil bitch brought this whole thing down on the country, Ricks thought. And the third, oh now that was something. Ricks wondered if Rephael would be up and ready soon.
