RE: The Allies of Old; Book Two Renewal: Chapter Thirty One "Shock and Truth"
Stars dotted the dark expanse with misty clouds weaving through the glittering lights.
If I were to be asked to cite one line that demonstrates your skill in painting vivid imagery, this would be it. Simply wonderful!
Jared: I need you to tell me everything. I know that you’re hurting but until a few minutes ago I thought you might be working with the damned as some kind of spy, and now I need to reform all of my opinions. I can’t do that without your help. And Anna please, no more lies. From now on, you tell me the truth no matter how much you think I won’t like it. Because I can assure you I will like a lie far less.
Anna: * hands Reborn and published chapters of Renewal * Here you go. Enjoy!
I'm laying down my arms against Anna. The battle has been decided. Really though, I just wish she realized that lying would've only made things worse from the get-go. If Jared would've eviscerated her for being human if she had told him some time ago, then nothing would've changed now even with proof of her humanity. She only made things worse for her by lying.
In all seriousness, I'm just glad that the truth is out so that they could focus on finding Jess. She had been gone for far too long, and I feel that the focus on Anna somehow eclipsed the gravity of Jess' loss. I really wish they didn't have a clue if she was alive or not so that they would've gone on with their grieving process. My money's still on her being turned to the damned, but looking at the trend, she would be turned back by the end of Renewal or the next book.
