recently the government through the minister of communications and informatics issued regulations for sim card customers to register cards using the residence parent number (NIK) and family card number (KK).
Card registration needs to be done in order to provide protection to consumers related to the misuse of mobile numbers by irresponsible parties such as fraud and hoaxes.

Baru baru ini pemerintah melalui menteri komunikasi dan informatika mengeluarkan peraturan bagi pelanggan kartu sim untuk melakukan registrasi kartu menggunakan nomor induk kependudukan (NIK)dan nomor kartu keluarga (KK).
Registrasi kartu perlu dilakukan dalam rangka memberi perlindungan terhadap konsumen terkait penyalahgunaan nomor ponsel oleh pihak-pihak yang tidak bertanggung jawab seperti upaya penipuan dan hoax.

The legal basis for prepaid card registration is stipulated in Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 14 Year 2017 on Amendment to Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information No. 12 of 2016.

Dasar hukum registrasi kartu prabayar ini tertuang dalam Peraturan Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika Nomor 14 Tahun 2017 tentang Perubahan atas Peraturan Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika Nomor 12 Tahun 2016.

The government began to enforce sim card registration obligations from 31st October 2017 to 28th February 2018. After that date, for old sim card users if they have not re-registered it will be sanctioned the card will be blocked.

Pemerintah mulai memberlakukan kewajiban registrasi kartu sim dari tanggal 31 oktober 2017 sampai tanggal 28 februari 2018. setelah tanggal itu, bagi pengguna kartu sim lama apabila belum mendaftar ulang maka akan diberi sanksi kartunya akan di blokir.
