Whatsapp's Founder Story is Rejected Facebook and Twitter
The journey of life is difficult to predict. Because often times reality differs far from what we expect. However, as long as we respond well and accompanied by prayer, strong effort and determination, there is certainly no point in vain. In fact will be fruitful to be sweet.
This happened to the life story of one of Whatsapp's founders, Brian Acton. Quoted from forbes.com, in the middle of 2009, Brian was just an unemployed person trying to find a job in his field, the computer software expert.
Despite having experience working in Yahoo and Apple companies, but none of the companies who want to hire them. Noted in May 2009, the company's first Twitter rejected this man's job application. Followed up in August, which is also reluctant to hire Brian.
Never get a job too, with sadness finally Brian decided to determine fate in his own hands. By joining Jan Koum building the Whatsapp app in Mountain View, California.
Thanks to his hard work, determination and experience, Brian and Jan succeeded in making Whatsapp is the most popular cloud-based messaging app and widely used by smartphone users operating iOS and Android systems today.
On 14 February 2014, Facebook officially purchased Whatsapp which was founded by Jan and Brian for $ 19 billion. That way, Brian as founder receives net money from transactions of $ 3 billion.
This agreement instantly shocked the world because the number of transactions is so large and had become a trend topic in a number of media at that time.
However, there is a piece of interesting story tucked behind the historic transactions. Namely Brian Acton who had been denied work on Facebook has been publicly known. Many people booed and deplored how could a very talented person like Brian not be accepted to work on Facebook, signaling a weakness in the recruitment process.
Can be imagined if Brian became an employee on Facebook, of course this is an advantage for the company. Because talented employees are a great asset to every company.
