Hey @sweetsssj Just discovering your idiom series and I loved it... Today's idiom applies to a lotta stuffs in our lives. And Im glad you gave a number of examples to further explain its meanings.

Thank you @infovore ! I'm so happy that you appreciate the idioms. In Chinese, we use these in every day language and it makes our language seem very poetic. English has similar qualities but from my interactions with English speakers, it's a lot more colloquial making it much easier to understand!
