“Why did you just let her get back with Jake?” He exclaimed, slamming his palm on the wooden table I was leaning on. “Are you crazy?”

“Crazy,” I scoffed. I ran my fingers through my hair, chewing the gum on my mouth. “Maybe I am.”

“Why?” He asked with pleading eyes.

“Why?” I took the gum out and threw it on the nearby trash bin. “Because I understand her.”

“Understand her?”

“It’s never easy to let someone go, that’s why I understand her.” I sighed, looking him in th eye. “Because that’s what love is, right?”

“Love?”

“That’s right,” I smiled a bitter one. “If you did love me, you’d understand.”
