Surprisingly, if you wish to learn more and more new, just recently read that what I believe, explains the psychological phenomenon called the "Pygmalion effect".

The Greek sculptor Pygmalion created the statue girls amazing beauty of Galatea, and the longer she saw, the more have found great advantages from it. Soon he began to feel that none of the earthly women is not able to compete with the statue. He appealed to the goddess Aphrodite with a plea to revive his beloved, and rushed into the workshop. Galatea was, and wanted to see her the one who invented it. Faith and a desire Pygmalion helped the dream become a reality.

In fact, I'm sure each of us is regularly faced with events in life that can be explained with this effect.
Its essence is that people internally staunch loyalty to any ideas or information unconsciously begins to behave in such a way that the idea or information it receives full confirmation in reality.

In my opinion this effect repeats the meaning of the subconscious attraction of a materialization of thoughts, visualize desired outcome of events and other phenomena in psychology. And the opinion of many philosophers that the religion (rituals of prayer) - uses the principles of materialization (pronunciation intended).

The first scientific evidence of the Pygmalion effect was performed by the experience of psychologists Rosenthal and Jacobson in one of American schools. They selected several students from each class and told the teachers that these students are endowed with outstanding intellectual abilities. The choice was made completely randomly (as scientists announced)! At the end of the school year the psychologists arrived to assess the intelligence quotient of the selected students, and found that they actually began to show a much greater level of achievement and evaluation by individual teachers. The experiment proved - with true faith (which woke up the students and teachers) - we get what you believe in.

To work in a team of crisis management, I am often faced with changing jobs and moving across the country. I have repeatedly noticed that the low efficiency of a unit really often determined either by the head (which pulled its employees to the bottom or "influential group" of employees with your "different opinion" on the issue.

These events confirmation of the Pygmalion effect in our days. He believes the team is then received in the performance measures. So, when leadership changes or a small portion of employees having demotivating effects - work was improving and their faith moved into the specific achievements of the organization.

Get that the waiting man a certain result, and largely determine the nature of his actions and reactions to surrounding events that, in practice, looks like the originally planned. That's what you hear everywhere, you need to set goals for a day, a year, for life! And to believe in them...

Even when applying for a job, did you notice? Often your expectations of the Manager or the team eventually came true (you brought himself to the initially assumed).

Unfortunately, many do not believe, not think, and probably therefore often implemented pessimistic (everything is bad and nothing happens), but if the only way to argue - it happens.

Do not dare to call for a frenzy of optimism (here the right of everyone), but should at least be realistic and believe the best, like Pygmalion :-)

I believe this is the case for a lot of students actually. Kids that have been treated like capable individuals come with more confidence and achieve things while others don't believe in themselves and nevel reveal what they are capable of.
