Why is institutional education not necessary anymore?

This one is for anyone who is trying to find their way.

I have been attending school religiously from 2003-2017 and honestly I can say right now that a lot of it was a waste. Not the social connections and experiences that have come from me attending school, but rather the information I gained on how to multiply 546 by 125 without using a calculator.

We have all of the resources we need right at our fingertips. Society is growing at an exponential rate, the information that people have access to has grown to the point where we can search any topic on the internet and have thousands if not millions of pages of writing on that specific topic. Its like there is now unlimited encyclopedias for every single possible topic. Even topics that are new and just being discovered are passed throughout the world within a small amount of time.

We live in a time where you can market anything online and make money from it without even seeing that product or touching that product in person, we are the future generation and our knowledge is immense. The amount that we can learn in a short period of time has grown.

I dropped out of school to do e-commerce partly because I want to be free and work on my schedule and get paid for my individual effort, but also because in this day and age we have that option. For us life is not about just going to school to get a "normal job" get married and have kids at around 30 and live off our pension in our old age. Dont get me wrong living like that has its benefits, but to me there is so much more out there. Why live like you are trapped in a endless cycle of working 9-5 all week for 30 years so then you can relax and live off a fixed income in your retirement years.

Find something you love and have knowledge on and make a living from it. Live life on your own terms and dont let anyone tell you different. The resources that we have access to everyday can change your life, you just need to search hard enough.
