Andrea and Maria became very close after Andrea had apologized to her.

I told you she'd apologize, Sandra said.

The children became very close and they treated one another as a family. Maria was happy in the home and it pleased both Micheal and Sarah.

Maria's happiness meant a great deal to Sarah because she could see the girl's mother each time she looked at her. Maria resembled her mother so much.

Somewhere in Sarah's heart, she grieved at the thought that Aunty Margeret had never known her beautiful daughter and that the girl had never known her beautiful kind mother. She was determined to be a mother to her.

Andrea began to work harder in school. She took the challenge to work harder and possibly beat Maria. She was always studying with her cousin whom she now usually told people was her sister.
