The book “Sakhalin island”
I am sharing with you with not a simple work of Russian writer of 19 century Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. He turned to unusual theme in his society, personally travelled to the Siberia and then into the isolated island Sakhalin (near Japan).
Theme is about prisoners, who were taken throughout the whole territory of Russia (6191 miles) with inhuman conditions. There were many dangerous criminals but always among all criminals of all countries, unfortunately, exist a big percent of random people…
A writer communicated with people, found out histories of their lives, and reasons of dispatch.
A harsh climate was one of the moments of surviving.
And the itself system of punishment was uneven to people.. One it gave a chance to survive and even to get a ticket for a new life, others was just turned into animals…
Many pages are shocking but do not keep indifferent.
Even present Sakhalin surprises and attracts… And there are many descendants of prisoners…
