Myth or reality, where the truth is or the story of one love

Hi people! I have one story of this portrait on the rock, which is located on one of the mountains above the Dniester River, near the village of Mikhalkovo, Ukraine. There is even a myth about how this portrait appeared on this stone.

So:
According to the legend, which local residents retell, once a simple guy lived on one side of the river, and on the other lived a girl with a father (a rich man by local standards), they were in love with each other. But the girl's father did not want to give her away behind a pauper. As a result, she threw herself from this cliff and died. The guy, in the name of love for this girl, cut out her portrait on this stone. So this portrait appeared on the mountain above the Dniester River.

But myth, this is not always true!

As we managed to find out from a local historian who has lived in the village for a long time, a simple man lived in this area who loved carving stones. He made this portrait of his beloved, as well as several other sculptures on various rocks around. By the way, we have not yet found them, so there is something to do this summer.

The person who told us about this, knows those places, but can not show, since to him already more than 70 years. So we'll see if we find it, it will be very good! There will be something to write about in the future and for future generations.
