Sometimes, in your relationship with others, not everyone will align with you.
And if you're one of those who constantly feel out of sorts because your friends don't support you, I want to share a little nugget with you:
There was once a king who found that when he walked through the hard floors of his kingdom, his feet would hurt. So he ordered that the entire kingdom be covered in cowhide, so no matter where he walked, his feet would not hurt so much.
After making this decree, his closest servant laughed a little too loud.
The king, furious, said, "Servant, you tell me now why you are laughing or tonight I shall have death come knocking at your door". The servant smiled. "Sire, there is no need to cover the kingdom floor in cowhide. We shall just cover your feet in cowhide".
That's how the first shoe was created.
As much as you may wish your friends could understand what you're doing, the fact is that most won't.
You cannot and should not invest your time trying to cowhide everything and everyone. Just you.
Take care of yourself, and the ones who align will reveal themselves to you. The ones who don't will slowly fade away.
