My great grandparents have left little, but there is a collection of books to be passed through the years that I inherited at m my grandmother's death.
I take great care of them, no direct light, no moisture.

Mes arrières grands parents ont laissés peu de choses, mais il est une collection de livres qui à traverser les années et dont j’ai hérité à la mort de ma grand-mère.
J’en prends grand soin, pas de lumière directe, pas d’humidité.

These almanacs were kept for the year and we find a lot of information about the time .

On conservait ces almanachs pour l’année et on y trouve un très grand nombre d’information sur l’époque :

But there is an even more precious insert called "our future"

In this insert we find valuable information on the cultural, political and economic life of these times, written by great authors, thinkers, and illustrious unknown intellectuals.

Dans cet encart on y trouve de précieuse information sur la vie culturelle, politique et économique de ces temps, écrites par de grands auteurs, penseurs, et illustres inconnus.

Once a week I will present you some selected pieces and invite you to go back in history with me. Remember also these two figures: the world population in 1900: 1.5 billion. French population in 1900: 40 million.
We will begin our journey back in time in 1894, the work will be long because the paper is very thin and I will also have to work on it with a magnifying glass! No way I am scanning them because they are too fragile. I will have a long process of transcription and translation.

Une fois par semaine je vais vous présenter quelques morceaux choisis et vous inviter à retourner dans l’histoire avec moi. Retenez aussi ces deux chiffres : la population mondiale en 1900 : 1,5 milliards. Population française en 1900: 40 millions.
Nous commencerons notre voyage dans le temps en 1894, le travail sera long car le papier est très fin et je vais aussi devoir travailler dessus avec une loupe ! Hors de question de scanner car, ils sont trop fragiles. Je vais donc avoir un long travail de retranscription et de traduction.
