The lost air memory. AN-10 in Gagarin's Park, Samara

A little more than 20 years in one of the parks of Samara, in those days of Kuibyshev, stood the decommissioned AN-10 plane, converted to a cinema. At that time it was an original idea - the cinema was loved, the VCRs and the Internet did not exist, and the cinemas enjoyed great popularity and could not accommodate all comers.

AN-10 is a Soviet passenger plane. Created under the direct supervision of Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov. The model was started in OKB-153 at the end of 1955, and the first flight was made on March 7, 1957. Serial production was from 1957 to 1960. Aircraft were assembled at the aircraft factory No. 64 in Voronezh. A total of 108 planes were produced there: in 1957 - 1, in 1958 - 20, in 1959 - 46 and in 1960 - 41.

Completely operation of the AN-10 stopped in 1974. Most of the aircraft were disposed of, some came as teaching aids to universities, and several became children's cinemas.

The aircraft installed in Kuibyshev entered the city on August 6, 1960. It was registered on August 20, 1960, as the USSR-11200. Had a salon for 100 passenger seats, but during the operation the number of seats was increased to 106. This was the first Kuibyshev An-10.

They were removed from flights on August 27, 1973 due to unsatisfactory technical condition. After the charge-off, it is installed as an air memory, in the park named after Yu. Gagarin in the city of Kuibyshev (now Samara).

It was used as a children's cinema "Antoshka"

The photographs of the airplane-cinema were in sets of postcards with views of the city.

In the early 90's hard times came, money was getting smaller and smaller. In the last years of his existence in "Antoshka" showed cartoons about "Tom and Jerry." Every day it got worse, the park administration did not take any action to save the cinema. "Antoshka" was finally closed. Over time, the curious began to penetrate, dismantle and break down the equipment. Soon it was already quite open. Repeatedly inside the plane there were fires.
