At age 3, he witnessed his father leave the family.
He attended 4 different schools and struggled whit dyslexia, which is reading disorder.
Education was more challenging for him, than it is for most.
He ended up getting expelled at age 16.
At 23, his closest friend River Phoenix, died of a drug overdose.
At age 34, he met Jennifer Syme and they fell in love instantly. After a year, Jennifer was pregnant. Life was going well for them.
Sadly after 8 months their child was born a stillborn. They were devastated by her death.
18 months later Jennifer died in a car accident.
Then his younger sister found out she had a blood cancer (Leukemia). After treatment she was cured. He donated 70% of his gain from the movie Matrix to the hospitals that treated Leukemia.
Even though he is worth $360 million, he do not have any high school diploma or any fancy degree.
He still love travelling on public trains.
