Hooded Pitohui

Hooded Pitohui is a very beautiful bird.It is really so beautiful.But it is one of the most poisonous bird in the world.This kind of bird is a song bird.It is a local bird of New Guinea with black and orange plumage.It is the first considered poisonous bird in the world.And another two relatives of this species are the Variable Pitohui and the Brown Pitohu is also very poisonous as Hooded Pitohui.It is proved that neurotoxin named homobatrachotoxin is found in the sind and in the feathers of the bird.

The bird collects its poison in the source of its diet like the Choresine beetle which is also a likely source of the lethal batrachotoxins found in Colombia’s poison dart frog.
