The office, on the island opens for 8am and closes for 5pm. He changed closing time to 4pm!! Had a meeting with transport dept, instructing all drivers ( save the CEOs ) to leave for 4:15pm latest, or receive a direct query, from HIM! It worked!

CEO was shocked! This not not our culture, Chuks! I know, He calmly replied. The board called. He trembled a bit. Defended his position. Not sure they were convinced, just straight faced and a single "thank you, you may leave".

Being the type who never liked been overly used by his employer, using his position rightly gave him joy.

That little decision made Staff spend extra hours with their families. Beating Lagos traffic by a mere 5 minutes is a whole lot! Some got 4 hours saved in commuting time, getting home before 6pm rather than 10pm!

The result? Happier homes! His people decided and resumed earlier! Their numbers sky rocketed by almost 1,000%. They had another "end of year" team building in March! Salaries got increased. The board called again, now you can guess how He walked.
