Mahatma Ji's Cat - A short Story
Long time before their was a mahatma ji who is staying in Hermitage near jungle with their students and do all the ritual,worship their in jungle, in the hermitage they all do meditation , daily yoga practice, Good accompaniment etc. From every part of the country people visit their hermitage in search of peace and harmony.
Anybody who comes in the hermitage a welcome place is given to them who ever it is , one day a kitten come in the hermitage, mahatma ji just give food and water to that small kitten and take care of it for several days.kitten get a new home in the hermitage.
After some days very strange thing take place when the mahatma ji get into meditation in the evening that kitten just start disturbing mahatma ji, he sit on his legs , bite on his toes, jump on shoulder then mahatma ji called one of his student and said "when I sit for meditation this kitten should be tied with the tree " this process should be done every day before I sit for meditation.then this has become a daily rule that the kitten should be tied with the truth before mahatma ji start to mediate.
One day mahatma ji died and his bright student sit on his place and all are now following him, now when that students (new mahatma ji) sit for meditation again the same kitten would be tied with the tree. Time passes long and that kitten got big , and his age is also increasing slowly slowly and one day that cat also died in the hermitage.
Now their is a very big problem arise in the hermitage all the person including new mahatma ji discuss in meeting that before when big mahatma ji was alive he use to mediate only when this cat was tied to the tree.and now we should all bring, A cat from a near village,and finally a new cat come to the hermitage and now the new mahatma ji just sit for meditation before the new kitten got tied to a tree.
Old cat was replaced by new cat and same case new mahatma ji replaced with another time passes and this rules continuous to followed by every mahatma ji, now before kitten tied to tree then only mahatma ji sit for meditation, from that time how many cat died and mahatma ji died but this rules does not change.
Now if we ask new mahatma ji why this kitten is tied to tree, they say " it's the ritual we are following our big mahatma ji also have done this" and how can this be wrong , and why we break this ritual and leave it behind.

We also are hiding this kitten in our self , we are doing many things wrong that are not necessary, we need to improve our self , this story tells us that it's good to follow rituals and traditions but before following we should search and think about it properly why it is their, we don't need to follow worthless thing that are not useful to us.

Yes, brother, you are right we are following rituals and traditions without any reasons. we should put questions about the rituals and traditions.

Yes, you are right cause the real answer is dead with the dead peoples earlier. now only myth exits.

Good point! I think it would be nicer to meditate with the kitten purring beside me. But you're right, continuing to do the same thing without questioning or thinking things through is silly. Evolution is constant, and sometimes we need to change.
