Story Telling Mentorship - Introducing frank1in

in #story-mentor7 years ago

I gladly accepted the assignment from @michelle.gent. The purpose is as follows: Write about your acquaintance with the group. Who are you, what have you done, what would you like to achieve from this - but it is necessary to write it as an observation. We need to look at ourselves from outside and give a description.

I want to present you an extraordinary character named Ruslan. If he was an American, then his name sounded like Leo. Well, if the Chinese is 鲁斯兰. Thus, for simplicity, you can call it - frank1in. He is 25 years old but looks much younger, so some think he knows the secret of youth.

With his house he considers one unique blue planet that is in obedience to a star called the Sun. This planet is inhabited by many unique intelligent beings. But unfortunately they do not always behave intelligently. The planet has a name - Earth. Since frank1in is one of its residents, he believes that people should not build huge fences among themselves. No, he is a supporter of peace on his beloved planet. But in childhood, Leo was not against waving his fists. "If you want peace, prepare for war".

As for his affairs - In the afternoon he is an ordinary guy and at night dresses a super hero costume and saves kittens stuck on a tree. Joke :) Until a certain time, he worked as an Engineer in Ecology and Industrial Safety. This post was not limited to these, but included fire and transport security. Oh, and it was not easy for him at the beginning. But he overcame himself and became a good specialist.

He has an education in Mechanics because he likes cars and equipment very much. Leo is well versed in cars and was engaged in their repair. In any other technique, it is easily disassembled. But he does not stop there and now gets a second education - Mining Engineer. Ruslan aka Leo aka frank1in believes that science is changing the world for the better and therefore he is keen on scientific achievements in various fields. Most of all he admires robotics and the development of cosmonautics. He honors people like Ilon Mask and Neil deGrasse Tyson, as well as familiar with the work of Stephen Hawking.

Everything is not limited to reading one scientific literature. frank1in prefers other literature. During his lifetime, he had read many books by great Russian writers such as Pushkin, Turgenev, Chekhov, Bulgakov .... and of course the mystifier Gogol. On Steemit his favorite writer is @michelle.gent. In it he sees a talented writer and teacher. The characters of her stories delight him.

On such a wonderful platform, Steemit, he fell completely by accident. But he is glad that he has become part of a growing family. But most of all, Ruslan is glad that he can develop his skills by joining the group under patronage @michelle.gent. That's why he will be able to develop his writing skills in English.

Before that, one of his hobbies was writing stories. But he tried to base all the stories on real facts. Recently, he wrote mystical stories for the Russian-speaking community. People liked this, so he wants to share his work with English-speaking users. Adheres to the position that was said in one "smart" film: "The best way to grow wiser is to play with a clever opponent."

In the future, he dreams to see the world. His soul is drawn to travel, but his physical body remains in one place for the time being. Leo believes - thanks to his efforts and efforts he will be able to pay his dreams - to see with his own eyes all the wonders of the world. Ruslan is sure participation in the group 'story-mentor' is another step to become better.

Thank you for your attention, I hope you enjoyed it. I think that this is enough for frank1in.

Sort:

I love this presentation as a story, it is really very well found. It is well told, very detailed is very nice to read, it's great. For my part, being French, belgian exactly, it does not pose any problems I have the ability to read between the lines to understand the purpose of the author, as we say here ^^, I pass everything by the google translator what suits me perfectly. The only thing is that I control the other way if what I say is well written.

thank you for your attention :) I'm glad that you liked it, so I did not in vain try

Hey Ruslan I am very pleased to see you are excelling on this platfrom:)
Through this wonderful introduction I know about you some more and I appreciate your efforts on steemit. I wish you good luck and I hope you would be doing wonderfully on #story-mentor.

I'm glad that you liked what I wrote. Thank you for your wish. I'm sure that your efforts will justify themselves. You write good comments and messages

Thank you for kind reply.
I have read Anton Chekhov's play "the cherry orchard" and its really a wonderful play, one of my favorites.

I like your choice :), this is one of the best works of Chekhov

This is wonderful @frank1in I feel like we share some common interests including our mentorship with Michelle.

I'm glad that we have a common interest

Nice to meet you! You seem like a well-rounded individual. And you really like Russian literature! Makes sense if you're Russian, but it's still cool. I noticed you didn't list Dostoyevsky as one you had read. He's the only one I know. I've read a few of his books. There's deep reading, but well-done.
I hope you're able to pay for your dreams and see the wonders of the world.
Oh, and I like what you said about playing with a clever opponent. There's a saying that if you're the smartest person you know, you need to meet new people. :)

Hi
Thank you for your continued support, I appreciate it.
Yes, I accidentally missed Dostoevsky, but I read his works ... especially interesting "Crime and Punishment" and "Idiot". I prepared work on several of his books when I was in school.
I agree, you need to expand your social circle. It's good that we live during the development of digital technologies. Now it is possible to communicate with good people from different countries even without leaving home.

"Crime and Punishment" is pretty well-know, so I figured you had read it. I haven't read "Idiot." It has been a while since I read one of his books. I'll see if I can get a copy.

and what books from your writers can you recommend me to read?

I really liked Herman Melville's Moby Dick, except the chapter on the dimensions of whale bones. I tried to read it, but couldn't. I skipped it.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas is one of my favorites!

And 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was also really good.

Ivanhoe by Walter Scott was a good one. A lot of the themes from Robin Hood are in there.

Those are a good start of my favorites. Have you read any of them?

I read Moby Dick. I think that they know about it all over the world.
The Count of Monte Cristo is an admirable adventure novel. I would call it classics. As well as the "Three Musketeers". I like this
I'm familiar with the biography of Walter Scott, he was a very talented person. I am familiar with his work "Ivanhoe"
You have a good reader taste

Thank you! You do as well. And you've read quite a few books. That's impressive. I started doing it when I was on my lunch breaks. I would take a lunch from home, so I had a full 30 minutes to read and eat. I got through a lot of books that way.

That was great, Ruslan! =) ... I loved this :

With his house he considers one unique blue planet that is in obedience to a star called the Sun. This planet is inhabited by many unique intelligent beings. But unfortunately they do not always behave intelligently. The planet has a name - Earth. Since frank1in is one of its residents, he believes that people should not build huge fences among themselves. No, he is a supporter of peace on his beloved planet.

And I am also a very big science fan, with Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking being two of my heros.

I hope that you achieve your two dreams of becoming a better writer, and traveling the world. ... Quite a spectrum of interests you have, as an engineer!

I'm glad that we have common interests. It's always nice to meet like-minded people. I hope we find a common theme
Thank you for your wishes

Nice to meet you, Ruslan.

This is well-written and easy to follow. The grammar and tiny errors are easily put down to the fact that English is not an easy language to learn.

The differences between a cat stuck on a tree and a cat stuck in a tree cannot be simplified, it's something you either know or don't and language barriers do not help.

I hope this doesn't come across as condescending because that wasn't my intention. I used my (poor) drawings to show the differences in a manner that is simple because you can see them.

lol! I make these kind of drawings all the time! (Being an English teacher) ...
I've grown to like "em" in Portuguese, which serves as 'in', 'on' and 'at' ... ;P

I understand what you mean. The fact is that in Russian there is no difference between what to say: "in a tree" and "on a tree".
That is, it has the same meaning. In colloquial and written speech, we use it the same way. That is why during the translation I make this mistake.
Before I write the text, I "represent" it in my head in Russian and with "Russian meaning" therefore in English I get the same result.
This is an excellent drawing, it is very clear and simple explains the difference.
Thanks for clarifying

Nice post. thanks for shearing.

Nice post dear...
