The Carrot, Egg and Coffee Story
Hello guys, today I am telling a story,
“Once upon a time there was the daughter of a gardener who always complained about life and how difficult it was to move on. She was tired of fighting and no longer in the mood for anything; When a problem was resolved, a new one appeared and made her feel defeated.
The gardener asked his daughter to approach the kitchen and sit down. Then he filled three containers with water and put it in the fire. When the water began to boil, he put a carrot in one of the containers, an egg in the other, and in the third some coffee beans. He let it boil without saying a word while his daughter waited impatiently without understanding what her father was doing. About twenty minutes later he put the fire out: took the carrots out of the water and put them in a bowl, put the eggs on a plate and finally strained the coffee.
He looked at his daughter and asked, "What do you see?" “Carrot, egg and coffee,” was her answer. Her father asked her to come closer and touch the carrot; she obeyed and noticed that the carrots were soft. He then asked her to break the egg; she peeled off and realized the egg was hard. Finally, he asked her to take a sip of coffee. She tried it, smiled as she tasted her sweet scent and humbly asked, "What does this mean, Dad?"
The gardener then explained that all three had faced the same adversity: boiling water. The carrot entered the strong, steady water, but after passing through the boiling water became weak, easy to crumble. The egg was fragile, but its thin shell protected its inner liquid; After passing through the boiling water it had hardened. Coffee, after passing through boiling water, had transformed the water.
Which one are you? He asked your daughter. ” “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you react? Are you like a carrot that looks strong, but in the face of pain and adversity becomes fragile and loses its strength? You are like an egg that has a malleable heart and spirit, but after a death, separation or resignation, do you become hard and rigid? The exterior is still the same, but how did you change inside?
Or are you like coffee? Coffee changed the water, which was something that caused her pain. When the water boils, the coffee reaches its best flavor. If you're like coffee beans, when things get worse, you react and turn things around for the best.
And you, which one do you identify with? ”
Being an egg or a carrot will only hurt you. Then get up and move on. If you do not react today, you will suffer tomorrow. Be strong and self confident. Learn how to deal with adversity.
