Stories Help Students Learn Better
A story is a narrative that raises unanswered or unresolved conflicts that characters encounter and then it is resolved. A story tends to have more depth than a simple example. Stories engage our thinking, emotions and leads to mental imagery. The individual unknowingly starts participating in the action of the narration. Hence, implementing these systems helps student in learning.
Stories can serve several functions in a classroom setting, like, it helps in keeping the student interested. For students, remembering and recalling the isolated concepts and definitions are difficult, hence stories help the student to create a mental image or form a cue for recall.
Sometimes, relating stories with role-playing technique, where students can create or take part in mini-drama in classroom, has be proved helpful.
Who doesn't like stories? Stories keep us involved and make learning fun.
