RE: Deescalating and working towards a mutually beneficial solution
And where you gonna go? This place is still better than anywhere else in many ways. And the worst case scenario is a fork that is going to benefit the majority of stake holders. If you wanna sell and leave, I get it though. Crypto and blockchain is not for the faint hearted.
I have a land holding that I worked for and left the UK to buy, I run a project supplying free food for locals and that takes a lot of my time in the spring, sure the spring is not here yet, but this place takes 3 months to power down from, and I am not internet reliant or much of a mobile phone fan, so I ill retreat to the real world, and the society around me. It is much better than this toxic environment.
I hope this answer satisfies, if not oh well.
You can't connect to everyone in the world in a heartbeat in the "real world" as opposed to the internet. You must have misjudged the actual use case of STEEM in the beginning to think that going back to the "real world" is now somehow a better option. But I wish you all the best nevertheless.
I wish you all the best too, I have seen peoples accounts ruined weekly on here for not towing the line, and for not agreeing, this place is worse than facebook, as people lose real money here, You may need to keep talking about nothingness to get along, if that is your thing then you can keep it for me.
Thanks. If by ruined, you mean flagged, I don't really consider that ruined. Facebook removes an account completely with all its history, etc and no one can read the content anymore, even if they wanted to. No one can do that here. Flagged posts are still visible and readable.
Financially ruined, steemit rep ruined, flagged into minus reputation, costing people real money, I prefer the fb way, not that I do fb, at least it does not hurt your wallet!
Reputation has nothing to do with your stake here. No one can reduce your stake by flagging you so I don't get the losing money argument. Not to mention most people you're probably talking about haven't put in any money from themselves including yourself(I assume) and it's all made on the platform through upvotes from others. Facebook sells your information and makes money from it and doesn't give you a penny which means technically hurting your wallet and if it doesn't like you, it removes you which means technically hurting your free speech. I still can't see how that's better. You neither get money nor freedom on fb.
I think you do not pay much attention to what is going on here, and that is up to you and your bubble, I have, end of of talking,
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Oh for fucks sake, not this bollocks again - accounts with reps below 0 are totally fucked and all the time that has been put into them has been stolen - I don't usually go off like this but I'm really over seeing my Steemit friends being flagged right off the platform - and no they don't come back...
As far as I know, no one can stop people from posting even if their reputation becomes 0 or negative. They can still post unlike fb who removes the account or locks the account from posting. And also here anyone can buy more power and fight against flags. You can't do that with fb.
I've also seen several people here, including bernie, climb back out of negative rep to full restoration.
with say, 1 million SP that isn't difficult!
While @skeptic seems to have taken a powder, Bernie repeatedly blasted him into negative rep, from where the community restored him to wholeness. Bernie eventually bored of it, and moved on. Dunno why @skeptic left, but he had moved across country just prior to his fading out, and I suspect that was why.
Prolly lost his keys from computer upgrade, or damage while moving. He was quite inspirational to me, despite his rough writing and sometimes quite rude memes.
skeptic was a classic - i was a fan too!
