Norton Antivirus is mining Ethereum in the background. But this is not a bug

As a rule, antiviruses remove hidden cryptominers on the PC. But the developers from NortonLifelock (formerly Symantec) have an alternative proposal: a new version of the proprietary Norton 360 package will receive a built-in algorithm for mining Ethereum without losing protection from viruses.

Miners often disable the antivirus while mining the "crypt". This helps to avoid false alarms of the security system but makes the computer vulnerable to hackers. The new Norton Crypto feature allows you to mine on your PC without compromising the level of protection against hacking and malicious software. At the same time, the user's digital wallet is stored in the cloud and will not disappear even in the event of a hard drive breakdown.

The company says the Norton Crypto feature will become available to all Norton 360 customers in the coming weeks.
