Ok, today I'm participate to Sticky note challenge #012 : this weeks theme is BUTTERFLIES, and want to make artwork with tape again. Since I ran out of brown packing tape I tried to make it with gray packing tape. And here are some of the processes I've included.

Ok, hari ini aku mencoba megikuti tantangan dari #stickyart dengan tema kupu-kupu, dan ingin membuat karya seni dengan selotip lagi. Tapi sejak aku kehabisan selotip berwana cokelat akhirnya aku mencoba menggunakan selotip berwarna abu-abu. Dan inilah beberapa proses yang aku sertakan.

This is the end result of Charlie's face that comes out slowly from behind the tree to catch a butterfly that is perched there.

Inilah hasil akhir wajah Charlie yang keluar perlahan dari balik pohon untuk menangkap kupu-kupu yang bertengger di sana.

This is the first stage I made art from this tape art. This work is an illustration to participate in this challenge with the theme butterflies, but I try to collaborate with things that I like, for example I insert the face of famous actor and legend in the world of comedy Charlie Chaplin. I made this sketch directly using the gray packing tape I attached to the aclyric plastic and then cut it to shape the image. The next stage just repeat it. Paste one layer of packing tape, then cut and shape the picture. I was very careful, not too strong in cutting tape, because if it is too strong then the knife will penetrate the tape so it can tear out the aclyric plastic that I use as a canvas.

Inilah tahap pertama aku membuat seni dari selotip ini. Karya ini adalah ilustrasi untuk ikut dalam tantangan ini dengan tema membuat kupu-kupu, akan tetapi aku mencoba mengkolaborasikan dengan hal-hal yang aku sukai, contohnya aku sisipi wajah aktor terkenal sekaligus legenda di dunia komedi yaitu Charlie Chaplin. aku membuat sketsa ini langsung menggunakan selotip abu-abu yang aku rekatkan ke plastik aclyric dan kemudian memotongnya untuk membentuk gambar itu. Tahap selanjutnya hanya mengulanginya saja. Tempelkan satu lapis selotip, lalu potong dan bentuk gambarnya. Aku sangat berhati-hati, tidak terlalu kuat dalam memotong selotip, karena kalau terlalu kuat maka pisau itu akan menembus selotip sehingga bisa merobek plastik aclyric yang aku gunakan sebagai kanvas.

I am working on all of these processes usually on a glass table lighted from the bottom, because to see the color gradient from every layer of masking tape I have needed light. And this is a finished tapeart, but not given light, so the picture is not very clear.

Aku mengerjakan semua proses ini biasanya di atas meja kaca yang terang dari bawah, karena untuk melihat gradasi warna dari setiap lapisan selotip aku membutuhkan cahaya. Dan ini adalah tapeart yang sudah jadi, tapi tidak diberi cahaya, jadi gambarnya tidak begitu jelas.

This is the detail of the wing of the kupu-kpu I'm working on, but this photo was taken when the light from behind the tape art was on.

Ini detail dari sayap kupu-kpu yang sedang aku kerjakan, tetapi foto ini diambil ketika cahaya dari belakang tape art sedang menyala.

And this is the finished result when given the lighting, here I use a window pane with scenic background of the city is still bright in the sun.

Dan inilah hasil akhirnya saat diberi penerangan, disini saya menggunakan kaca jendela dengan pemandangan indah kota yang masih terang di bawah sinar matahari.

That's the story of making this work, and I'm glad @raptordashzero lends support to artists through this challenge to keep artists in the art. And the photo below is a poster of tracing using adobe illustrator from the painting I made using gray tape.

Itulah ceritanya pembuatan karya ini, dan aku senang @raptordashzero memberi dukungan kepada seniman melalui tantangan ini untuk membuat seniman tetap semangat dalam berkarya. Dan foto dibawah ini merupakan poster hasil dari tracing menggunakan adobe illustrator dari lukisan yang aku buat menggunakan selotip warna abu-abu.
