One of our own's in this century physicist and author of A Brief History of Time has died at his home in Cambridge. His children said: ‘We will miss him for ever’ - May the Cosmos take him under its wing.

Mr. Hawking’s very first major breakthrough came in the year 1970, when he and Roger Penrose* applied the mathematics of black holes to the universe and showed that a singularity, a region of infinite curvature in spacetime could also be called the space time continuum, lay in our distant past: the point from which came the big bang. This in his theories is what started the big bang.
He was mostly known for His Black Holes theories, I remember reading an article of his stating we must be ready to leave earth with in 100 years.
