A: What is the difference between allostasis and homeostasis?

Well, while yes they mean internal regulation, however there is a subtle difference. For instance the physiology you require during a normal day, vs when you are being chased by a predator are different. In later situation you don't require your body to focus on digestion, controlling the muscles of bladder etc; however you do need increased heartbeat, rapid metabolism in muscles, and hyper alert state. Maintaining this sort of physiology requires alteration of usual homeostasis. Though lines are blur for sure. Like, why name physiology under stress a differently. In my view it helps us delineate the two different states of the system.
