As for me, I don't think it's something we'd have now. The cost involved in redesigning planes or in training is too much to be paid for whatever advantages the circular runs has over the straight. But let's be optimistic there is other ways of beating the runway thing. Maybe make a commercial airline that do vertical takeoffs :D
Vertical take off commercial aeroplanes will be a major engineering innovation. I can't wait to see such. Thank you.
