laboratory is a place or room where either biological,chemical and physical experiments are carried out in search for knowledge and research purpose. There are different types of laboratory and each laboratory has its own setup for standardization and efficiency.
There are different types of laboratory this include
1.chemistry laboratory
2.physics laboratory
3.biological laboratory
4.biochemistry laboratory
5.medical laboratory e.t.c
There are as much as possible scientific laboratory with different materials and different setup each for its own specific function.Each laboratory has its own setup but generally a laboratory setup must be standardized and meet up with general requirement before it can be called laboratory.
Laboratory setups.
A laboratory must contain standard rooms which are weighing room,instrumental room,store room,and work room.
Weighing room: this is a sector in the laboratory where weighing or measurements are taken for experimental process
Preparatory room: this is a sector in the laboratory where stock reagents are produce or prepared.
Instrumental room: this is a sector in the laboratory where instruments are kept for safety purpose.
Store room: this is the room where reagents or materials are stored either alphabetically or using other methods used by the body of standardization.
A laboratory show what is and not what we think,laboratory is a complex environment.Both industry and institution can not do without a standard laboratory.
Safety in laboratory
Laboratory must be hand core in order to avoid accident while on experimental processes. Flammable and inflammable reagents should be kept in a cool or full air conditional area. The laboratory technicians should be equipped with safety gadgets such as safety boots, glove, fire extinguisher, laboratory coat e.t.c and there must be at least two exits in case of emergency. In a laboratory there must be different signs show or indicate touch or not that is do or don't. A laboratory is a place of excellence and not a place of risk, perfection is vibal and there is no room for mistakes.
A laboratory is not just a place,is a place more than room, its a place where light is given to the blind,science is a body that specialise on seeking the truth and knowledge rely so much on the laboratory for its evaluation and conclusion.Though theory tells us what to observe but experimentation show reality and reality is science.
