Aurora - Amazing Lightning Made By Nature

Aurora the mother nature neon light seems to be misery to a lot of people. There have been a lot of superstition and tale relating to aurora light due to poor knowledge of some individual as there are some that take the light as a form of deity or goddess. While some native town take it as a sign if bad omen, representing their slain enemies preparing for revenge, uprising demon chasing after lost souls and so many more. From my own perspective i believe all this tales are usually as a result of cunning local leader giving out false information so as to be regarded as been wise in term of response, of which this act lead to the transfer of wrong information from one generation to another. Thanks to evolution of science which has helped to unveil the misery behind aurora.

For those who might have seen, heard about aurora based on superstitious tales or those who are what aurora really mean you will find this to be quiet intriguing.

What Is Aurora?

Aurora is the Latin word for dawn which is also known to represent sunrise or the goddess of damn according to the romans.
Aurora actually is actually a natural light that displayed in various colors. This light are usually displayed along the polar region of the earth, in which the aurora light in the southern pole is referred to as Aurora Australis while aurora light displayed in the northern pole is referred to as Aurora Borealis.

Outside the earth exist a solar wind from the son which is a result of coronal mass ejection (CME) containing a very huge amount of energy traveling down to the planet earth 🌍. The Solar Flare(that is the sudden increased in the sun brightness) which lead to a massive coronal mass ejection known as solar wind travel and carries a large energy in the outer space are usually regarded to be dangerous to the earth.

But the earth have magnetospheric plasma also known as van allen radiation belt inform of which encompasses the earth and serves as a means of protection against any particles that is dangerous to the earth. This solar wind are so strong that when they come in contact with the earth magnetospheric plasma, it makes these plasma go out of shape as a result of magnetic storm between the solar wind and magnetospheric plasma.

This magnetic storm tend to occur for a very long time in which some of this some of this solar particles become trapped along the earth generated magnetic plasma which later squeeze and are carried away with the solar wind. While the some of this particles escape to earth via weak earth spot which is via the southern and northern pole region.
On getting to the earth atmosphere this escaped atom energy collide will make a collision with the gas present in the earth atmosphere which are nitrogen and oxygen. The collision of these escaped atom energy with either oxygen or nitrogen will make it bounced back to a more exciting state, when it is coming back to its previous position it will emit light of varying color known as Aurora.

What Lead To A Change In Aurora Color

Has explained above when the atom energy the earth atmosphere it collide with either nitrogen or oxygen.
So when this atom ion collide with nitrogen it emit a blue or red light. blue if the atom regains an electron after it has been ionized, red if returning to ground state from an excited state.
But if the atom collide with oxygen it will emit a green or orange - red light depending on the energy absorbed.

There are also some artificial inventions of **neon lightning** that work in the same process like aurora light. As this artificial neon light are usually in bars as sign post, strippers clubs and so many other places. This neo lighting are usually bright glowing electrified glass tubes or bulbs that contain rarefied neon or other gases. ^sourceBut for this artificial neon hydrogen is use to produce(red), helium(yellow), carbon dioxide (white), and mercury( blue) light.

Conclusion

Aurora is false claim completely different for a far fetch story of it been a demon hunting lost soul or any other superstitious tale relating to it. But it is actually emission of energy from escaped atom that comes from the solar wind particles when they make a collision with the earth atmospheric gas.
