Haven't understood this,do you also know that there are some setting bullets that passes close to leg bone but cannot touch the bone but still leaves the bone fractured. This is because the shock wave destroys the bone as it passes the limb.

Surviving of gun shot all depends on the parts of the body the bullet touched and the vein it affects. A bullet that affects a major vein of the body be it at the leg or hand can cause death. This is because the rate at which blood flows when major vein are affected can easily cause death not to talk of when it affects the vital organ.

Even though it looks as if gun shot is the major thing that could cause death, there are still a higher chances for someone to survive if not affected at the heart and brain says Dr Vincent.
Looking at the words of Vincent you will clearly understand that gun shot is unpredictable. It only depends on the location of the bullet In the body and weather it affects the vital organ or not.

Before jumping into conclusion on what gun shot could do to the body. Let it be clear to you that the chances of people dying as a result of gun shot may not necessary be the hole created by the bullet but the shock wave that accompanies the bullet.
