Why Fish Aren't Electrocuted During Lightning In The Sea?

Hello fellow steemians, we would all be wondering about the above post, oh yeah "why fish aren't electrocuted during lightning in the sea? "

We all wonder why this has never happened before, perhaps why there's no news about fishes been electrocuted in the sea during lightning or thunderstorms.

Now this is it, you never expect yourself to be electrocuted in the bath tub while using hairdryer, if you ever expect this, there won't be the use of hairdryer anymore in different homes. So what happens to fishes in the sea when its lightning?
If thunderstorms could kill a fish in the sea definitely there's no room for any other animals in the sea, they will all have to be electrocuted too or perhaps they find their way out of the sea.

Research shows that, it is very rare for a lightning to occur on the ocean more of land. However, an analysis of the annual lightning distribution confirms that lightning occurs mainly over land areas, with an average land/ocean ratio of 10 : 1. Which means lightning would occur on land ten times before it occurs once on ocean.

Research further proved it that

Lightning is predominant in the northern Atlantic and western Pacific Ocean basins year-round where instability is produced from cold air passing over warm ocean water. Lightning is less frequent in the eastern tropical Pacific and Indian Ocean basins where the air mass is warmer.

NASA research about the satellite observation, showed that lightning flash frequently occurs over land than oceans. And lightning seems to happen more often closer to the equator.
The higher frequency of lighting over land makes sense because solid earth absorbs sunlight and heats up faster than water; this means there is stronger convection and greater atmospheric instability, leading to the formation of thunder and lightning producing storms.

Now that research has showed that lightning does strike the ocean 1/10 of land. What's the probability of fish not been electrocuted in the ocean when its lightning?
Most fish won't be electrocuted during lightning as long as the fish are underwater, because water

However, if the fish happen to be surfacing during lightning they are likely to be electrocuted, but if the fish goes below the surface, most of the electricity is instantly neutralized. So the fish are generally spared.
That's why its advisable for people to leave the water immediately its raining because if you are swimming anywhere in the vicinity, the lightning will probably hit you in the water.
